- Checking correct word usage, grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Reading for tone and style
- Ensuring clarity and flow
- When working on translated texts, performing localisation, e.g. converting idioms and other terms to their closest English-language equivalent

- Creating new copy, including:
- Back cover text
- Author biographies
- Website copy
- Social media posts
- Revising existing copy
